Hey guys! I am a bit new to this so I have some questions I would like to ask you? Are screenshots of videogames copywritten? And if so how do you get authorization for use?

To an extent. you can't use them for commercial use, since the game was made by a company, but it's ok to just use them for discussion about the game or if you're writing a review or something, Gamespot/IGN do this all the time. Fair use comes into account as well: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use

If you have a website that is for commercial use? Can you advertise video game consoles and their games? How do you get permission from companies to use their material?

A website isn't commercial use, it's just a site with information on games or images of games and the sort. I'm not sure how you can advertise...but it's probably not allowed, you'd have to email the companies or ask them yourself to get permission to, I believe.
